Jason Buxbaum
President and Founder
Jason’s 25-year long career in commercial real estate began in Chicago, where he worked with his family on a diversified portfolio of commercial assets.
In 2005, Jason relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where he started in multifamily brokerage. From brokerage, Jason moved to the principal side of multifamily as the Vice President of Acquisitions for ColRich, a CALPERS partner.
Since founding Jevan Capital in 2009, Jason has overseen the acquisition and reposition of more than 217 properties. Focusing on large multifamily projects, Jevan has acquired more than 4,000 apartment units with a total basis of $337,450,000. The portfolio is capitalized with more than $111,000,000 in equity raised entirely by Jason.
As of January 2022, Jevan has sold 18 significant assets, generating $389,000,000 in sales and an average IRR of 31.3%.
Jason resides in Phoenix with his wife and son. Together they enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle as well as supporting the local arts and burgeoning downtown Phoenix area. They support numerous local charities including The Boys and Girl Club, UMOM, Free Arts of Arizona, Generation Justice, Foundation for Blind Children, and The Phoenix Art Museum. Jason graduated from Union College with a dual BS in Economics and Art History.
Andrew Goode
Regional Service Director
Andrew brings over three decades of multifamily maintenance and construction experience to Jevan Capital as Regional Service Director. He leads the property maintenance teams with a high standard of environmental compliance, safety and quality of facilities. His goal for the maintenance staff is a high level of self-performing the optimal number of repairs and property maintenance.
Andrew is dedicated to leading by example, and can often be found in the field alongside his staff. In addition to his lengthy career in multifamily property maintenance, he is also a Certified Welder, HVAC Proctor Certified, OSHA Outreach Trainer, and a Licensed Welding Contractor. Andrew is in charge of all maintenance projects on Jevan Residential properties, and hires and supervises the maintenance teams for each property.
Growing up on a ranch in New Mexico, Andrew learned the value of hard work at an early age. He began his career in construction and gained experience working on the renovation of a multifamily apartment project. He was asked to become a maintenance technician and has worked his way through every aspect of the multifamily maintenance industry. This deep knowledge of the industry best practices informs him daily, and he approaches his management duties with loyalty and respect.
Andrew is happily married and values time spent with his amazing family. When not working, he enjoys volunteering his skills for non-profit work.
Chad Graves
Controller
Chad has over ten years of public accounting and private industry experience, predominantly with firms which serve the private equity and real estate investment sectors. In addition to providing compliance and consulting services to a wide variety of clients, he has significant experience with the accounting and taxation of multi-tiered partnerships and other pass-through entities.
Chad joined Jevan Capital in March of 2021 as Investment Accounting Manager and now serves as Controller. He oversees the Property Accounting Department and Construction Accounting Department, including the preparation of all financial reports for our investment funds and partnerships, Treasury, establishment of internal controls, policies & procedures, and coordinates contributions and distributions. Chad also oversees the preparation of tax returns and audits by outside CPA firms.
Chad graduated from California State University’s Mihaylo College of Business and Economics with a degree in Accounting. He holds a Certificate in Organizational Leadership (Student Leadership Institute, CSUF, 2010), Certificate in Career Leadership (Student Leadership Institute, CSUF, 2010), and Certificate in Emerging Leaders (Student Leadership Institute, CSUF, 2010). Additional accomplishments include American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) – CPA Exam Candidate Affiliate Member and a member of the Accounting Society, California State University, Fullerton – Alumni.
Chad, who is originally from Southern California, lives in Queen Creek, Arizona with his wife and their four children. When Chad is not running between kid’s sporting activities, he enjoys camping trips, mountain biking, barbequing, and volunteering at his church.
Jerianne Rosenow-Law
Regional Supervisor
Jerianne has been Regional Supervisor for Jevan Capital since 2018. She brings over three decades of experience in multi-family property management directing, with specific skills concentrating in successful oversight of lease up, repositioning distressed assets, and value add strategies.
Jerianne approaches her career with empathy and understanding, using her experience to develop and motivate exceptional teams. She dedicates her efforts to building company culture and cultivating client relationships built on trust and communication.
Raised in an Air Force family, Jerianne learned the important lessons of loyalty and integrity at an early age. She brings this dedication to each project, along with exceptional attention to detail and precise problem-solving strategies. She is organized and analytical, with excellent communications skills that help her to maintain client relationships to the highest ability.
Jerianne has managed portfolios in Arizona and Nevada and currently holds an Arizona Real Estate License. Since beginning her career in property management in 1989, she has worked for four distinguished companies: Magellan Management, Scott Homes, Milestone Management and now Jevan Residential.
While at Milestone Management, she was awarded Regional Vice President Person of the Year, Manager of the Year and annual awards for exceeding occupancy and NOI goals. She finds great fulfillment in her career and holds the relationships she has built with teammates and clients very dear. Each day is a new opportunity for growth and understanding, and she strives to make each day better than the one before.
In her personal life, Jerianne is dedicated to family and friends. She enjoys her role of aunt to several nieces and nephews. She is a regular supporter of the Humane Society. She spends her free time figure skating, reading the Bible, and enjoying time with friends and family.
John Gallegos
Head of Special Projects
John has been in the Real Estate Business for over 20 years. He has a wide breadth of experience in project management, data analysis, market research, graphic design, client services, due diligence, and property tax consulting.
Prior to joining the Jevan Team, John served for ten years as Business Analyst on CBRE’s Institutional Investment Properties Multifamily Team completing hundreds of transactions involving more than 200,000 units with a total value of over $20 billion. During John’s tenure his team was consistently ranked #1 in investment sales in Arizona and Top 3 in the United States. Some of the Institutional Clients were Equity Residential, AvalonBay Communities, Essex Property Trust, Mid-America Apartment Communities, Starwood Capital Group, Invesco, USAA, AIG, Lincoln Property Company, JP Morgan, Fairfield Residential and Greystar Real Estate Partners.
Previously, John worked at the real estate property tax software company startup ePropertyTax (today part of Thomson Reuters). At the firm John managed numerous billion-dollar real estate tax portfolios for many of the largest REITS in the U.S. and Fortune 100 Companies. A sample of clients served were General Electric, AIMCO, UDR, Simon Property Group, Macerich and General Growth Properties.
In addition, John was on the Deloitte property tax appeals and consulting team representing many major clients such as Ford Motor, General Dynamics, Wells Fargo, Home Depot, Cardinal Health, Camden, DMB and Sunbelt Holdings.
John was born in Flagstaff, AZ where he grew into a lifelong outdoorsman. He is a proud husband and father. John is into martial arts and is a science fiction enthusiast.
Ken Maki
Senior Project Manager
Ken has 20 plus years of experience in Project and Construction Management. Ken Maki has built a reputation for his creativity, competence, and ability to deliver great value to investors with a focus on the high rate of return. With a keen eye, attention to detail, and passion for construction, he has acquired in-depth knowledge in building procedures, building codes, and personnel supervision. This knowledge enables him to offer guidance to contractors and ensure that renovation projects are successful. As a dedicated team leader, he focuses on improving operations, driving the company’s growth, and formulating ideas to turn the company around and make work seamless.
He started his career as Superintendent at Turner Dunn Homes. Since then, he has worked as a Project Manager at Palacia Homes, Superintendent at Alliance Residential Company, Owner-Operator at KLM Construction, and Field Manager at Shea Homes. Committed to his career, Ken’s notable academic qualifications include an Associate Degree in Project Management from the University of Phoenix, Home Inspection Certification from Arizona School of Business & Real Estate, and OSHA 10 Certification.
By combining his education and experience, Ken is equipped with excellent communication and organization skills. He is a problem solver who identifies and mitigates potential issues by future-proofing and integrating relevant technologies in order to achieve the company’s goals without fail. Be it residential, multi-family, or commercial construction and renovation, Ken will work tirelessly to ensure there is consistent success across every project.
When he is not at work, Ken loves spending time with his loving wife of 20 years. Other than that, he enjoys engaging in outdoor activities, working on his vehicles in the garage, camping, going for road trips in their Jeeps, and volunteering with the U.S. Forest Service through TRAL.
Leslie Tapia
Senior Property Accountant
Leslie is a hardworking and knowledgeable professional with 20 years of accounting experience. She joins our team in the capacity of a Senior Property Accountant, and derives great joy from working with numbers and puzzles, thus her decision to choose this career path. Leslie attended Washington State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy. Prior to joining Jevan, she held different accountancy roles in various fields such as property management, manufacturing, audit, and cost accounting. She has worked in commercial and residential property management for large companies such as Vestar Development, Alliance Residential, Invitation Homes, and Caliber Real Estate Group, and brings valuable talent and insight to our company.
Being the independent and adventurous person that she is, Leslie believes in exploring the world and having fun because she believes in living her life to the fullest. She finds joy in her job and is always looking for new challenges, as her main drive is the desire to grow through new and wonderful experiences. Leslie is proud of her tremendous achievements, especially given the duration she has been in this industry and the personal growth she has had throughout the years.
Leslie enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and spending time with her two dogs. She loves the sun, so living in sunny Arizona rewards her immensely. A passionate animal lover and a pet owner, Leslie likes supporting animal rescue organizations, and plans to be a foster parent for dogs. She also likes nature, meeting new people, going for outside dinners, BBQs, and sitting by the pool with family and friends.
Silvia Lupu
Fund Manager
Silvia joins Jevan in the role of Fund Manager to ensure our funds are built at the highest level of legal, accounting and business performance standards. Silvia’s 7 years in Fund management and accounting include five years with KPMG in various fund accounting roles.
She then moved on to Blackstone as part of the Valuation and Fund Oversight team before joining Jevan. Silvia is a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), Coach, and Mentor for Start-up Companies and Women in Business, she was previously a member of the Advisory Committee for the Italian projects held by Blackstone.
Silvia’s education includes an Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), a degree from the Academy of Economic Studies (Bucharest, Romania), and an additional degree at the International Economic Relationships Reading College (Reading, United Kingdom). With such a diverse education Silvia speaks English, Ukrainian, Romanian, Russian, Italian, and French.
